Turn and rotate mattress if recommended.
Turning is especially important for innerspring mattresses. The mattress industry is moving towards non-turn mattresses, but many mattresses still need to be turned on a regular basis. Rotating and turning your mattress will help it wear more evenly. It will help to maximise comfort, minimise body impressions in the mattress, and make sure your mattress lasts as long as possible. A good place to start is to use a safety pin and attach it to the right hand corner of your mattress. When turning, rotate the mattress so that the safety pin is on the opposite side. Then, just move the pin to a different corner every time you turn your mattress. Some manufacturers recommend turning and rotating every two weeks for the first three months, then every two or three months thereafter. One-sided mattresses only need rotating.
